Our Story
Narrative Now Inc. was founded in 2022 — originally incorporated as Achieve to Lead Inc. — with a simple conviction: that everyone deserves access to meaningful learning experiences, regardless of background, age, or prior education.
In 2025, we completed a legal name change to Narrative Now Inc. to better reflect our mission and the work ahead. The name speaks to what we believe: that every person carries a narrative worth developing, and that the act of learning is itself a form of storytelling — a way of writing the next chapter.
Based in New York City, we now work in two ways: free community learning that builds skills and connections, and direct support that covers the practical costs of a next step.

Narrative Now helps people author their own futures. Through free community learning and direct support, we give people the skills, connections, and resources to pursue education, work, and independence on their own terms.
What We Believe
Curiosity Over Credentials
The desire to learn is the only prerequisite. We welcome everyone — no application, no test scores, no gatekeeping.
Community as Classroom
Learning is richer when it happens together. Our workshops are spaces where diverse perspectives strengthen everyone's understanding.
Expertise with Warmth
The people who lead our sessions know their subjects and teach with generosity, patience, and a genuine investment in the room.
Access is Everything
We remove barriers to learning — geographic, financial, and cultural. When the barrier is a cost, Direct Support covers it directly.
Inclusive by Design
Our programs are neurodivergent-affirming and built to be accessible to people of all abilities, including people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We don't build separate spaces. We build better ones — where every person in the room can participate, contribute, and succeed.
Leadership
An All-Volunteer Organization
Narrative Now Inc. is run entirely by volunteers. No one on our team draws a salary — every person leading a workshop, reviewing an application, or keeping the lights on is here because they believe in the work. It also means your donation goes to programs and grants, not payroll.
Joseph Amodeo
Founder and President
Joseph is the founder of Narrative Now Inc. With a background in adult education, coaching, and community-based programming, he's passionate about building learning experiences that bring people together. He founded Narrative Now because he believes the richest rooms are the ones where people from different backgrounds, experiences, and walks of life learn alongside each other — and that the best teachers are genuine experts in their subjects who care deeply about making learning engaging and accessible for everyone present.
Transparency
Narrative Now Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run entirely by a volunteer team. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
